Two totally different cars, same battery?
Discussion
Hi
Bit of a long story but I'll give you the brief version. A colleague of mine has two cars that have been sat for some time and we are suspecting they both have flat batteries - a Mk5 Golf R32 and a 2012 Maser GranCabrio. ECP says they both take a Bosch S4/S5, however they also have AGM batteries for the Maserati. He thinks the Golf battery is charged, I'm unsure on the state of the Maserati.
He's suggested we get one battery and go from there so I'm considering picking up one of the Bosch's and seeing if we have any joy. He's borrowed my multimeter and has tried it on the Golf but he said it wasn't reading anything, however I'll have a go next week when I go over....basically is it worth taking a new battery over in the hope that one of them will work with it?
And I guess the other question would be, does the Maserati require an AGM battery? And do these need pairing to the vehicle?
Thanks

The Bosch battery will come in many different dimensions. S4 is just the model of battery.
By all means it might still work, to get the car moving, but if it's dead then it wants a good charge first.
Check Tayna to get an idea on battery dimensions.
ECP are quoting part no 444770967 for the S4 for example, same dimensions on that for both vehicles. I'll check that link too though, thanksBy all means it might still work, to get the car moving, but if it's dead then it wants a good charge first.

edit: yes exactly the same. Handy site that actually!
