Do all the B9 A4s use DSG (rather than CVT) gearboxes? With the engine being longitudinal, are these radically different from a transverse DSG box?

I liked the DSG in my 2016 Golf R, but as it was leased and warrantied, I didn't worry about it. Are these boxes considered reliable?
