Question - If a warden :bandit::punch: is in the process of entering your cars details into his machine thingy but you hop in a drive off before the ticket is printed and duly slapped on the screen, have you got away with it?? :p:p:p

Or will it come in the post anyway? :curse:

If I remember correctly in most cases if you drive away before the ticket has been handed to you or stuck to the car it is invalid.

I don't think this applies to Police employed Wardens of which there are some still around.

yep, according to the local NCP traffic wardens, they can't do anything if you drive off before they attatch to windscreen.

Surely they'll just claim they did stick it on - what chance have you got then of getting off with it?

They've claimed they've stuck them on my car in both Westminster and Islington (London), and then I've got final demands in the mail.

I remember reading something about parking tickets being issued in the post after parking "offences" being spotted by CCTV in Croydon.

The Transport for London (Consequential Provisions) Order 2005 that came in 14.2.05 under Schedule 2 enables TfL to serve penalty charge notices for parking contraventions on GLA roads on the basis of camera information and where a parking attendant is prevented from issuing a ticket.

There is a mechanism for them to issue the ticket after you have sped off but I don't know all the details. It was mentioned on the parking wars programm. I once had a warden claim he ticketed me and I know that he didn't. When I got the notice via the post with the increased penalty I complained to the council and it was dropped without arguments? Very strange.

Ist a case of "I've started so I finish" - as once they start to enter details ... ist issue of ticket.

You have to be very careful in Cockermouth ... if you are over white lines - they will issue a ticket. Have been stories und letters of compalint in local rags about it.

Of course - am purrrrr-fection und always parked proper!

Depends whether its an official traffic warden or a police officer or not. I can attest that if the guy issuing a ticket is employed by a private company then you can just drive off as long as it hasn't been attached to your car. I have done exactly that The guy tried to obstruct me getting into the car to give him time to write it All he was left with was a half written ticket and an empty parkingg space....
