..the leftover ICE I had in the Beetle into the Chimaera (or at least some of it)..

The list basically consists of:

2x 30w tweeters
2x 6x9 3 way 315 watt speakers
2x 12" 240w subwoofers
3x Amps
1x Active Equaliser/Crossover

Or will I become a sad muppet..??

Cheers,
Matt.

The fact that you had the beetle in the first place means you are a sad muppet so you might as well shove it all into the TVR.

Do it, you know you want to...

Anyway, the point is not deafeningly loud "beats", with power to spare, the clarity and musicality of the system is greatly enhanced!

It might put this into context to realise that when he sold me my S it had a whopping amp bolted in the boot. "It was in the car when I got it and Of course I've never had it connected up" he protested..

of course I haven't been able to fully test the veracity of his protestation as I've yet to get hold of the fascia for the stereo in it

Funny that the power light on the amp works though..

Hey.. what would I want with a 4th Amp..

..seriously though whoever fitted that one gave no thought to sheilding it so I disconnected it straight away.. all you got was the whine of engine electrics through the speakers when it was on.

Cheers
Matt.

Edited to say: the permanent live feed for the stereo is on the same wire run, you'll see it straight off the battery terminal.. and as soon as I find the front you can have it

the 12" subs will fit easily in the side sections of the boot if you dont carry a spare wheel.. not sure about the 6x9's as I have 5"s installed already in the rear wall..

..somewhere under the bonnet perhaps

I had a 12" sub (driven by a 200watt amp) in the rear shelf of my Chimaera - it made the mirrors shake to the point where the glass fell out.

I would have thought that due to the size of the box required to house a 12" sub and make it sound right you'd have no chance of getting the roof in, I've got a 12" Earthquake Sub in a ported box currently sitting in my bedroom and it only just fits in the boot.

2 spitfires and 2 x1/9s thank you very much. None of which had powersubampwoofers as they were far too busy rusting to bits.
And you forgot to mention the 2cv.

you'd need a custom enclosure of course but if you considered the two mounted in the back corners facing forwards at 45degrees to provide a "firing area" somewhere in the middle of the boot it would be quite good and you'd still get the roof in... (not that I know anything about all this)

No doubt it could be done! But making strong enough glassfibre sub boxes to fit in the complex shapes in the boot corners and calculating the volume correctly would be an absolute pig of a job of course then you've got to retrim it all in leather and fit the neons
