I have tried adjusting my bonnet loads of times but it always seems to pop open on the passenger side...


I know the roads in Essex are bad but can the adjustment be made so they stay shut or is it a case of they all do that....

I expect you'll find the bonnet is twisted so that corner is being lifted. If the bonnet pins are adjusted too short they don't engage properly and then they can tend to pop out.

If your bonnet locking pins are to short they sure wont lock correctly, also if they are not aligned with the locks in the upper wing they can jump out, my S2 had this problem and it was trial and error until I cured the problem.

will try lengthening that pin by half a turn a nd try the favourite pot hole and see what happens....

Had the same problem. And as you say - it was trial and error. Once I found the right position - I invested in a locking nut to go with it as well.
