S21 Ultra. Running latest software I think (May 21)

I download documents (mostly pdfs but sometimes word and excel docs) thru an app (not via chrome or internet browser etc)

Android auto deletes then after approx 7 days. Very infuriating! I think it's something to do with the "download idle service" but I don't know how to stop it!

A work around I found it's that if I rename the file then it stays on my phone and isn't auto deleted. It's a pain as I often forget to rename it.

Anyone had similar and found a solution?

? Android Auto is the car app, like iOS CarPlay.....

What makes you think Android Auto is deleting files?

Edit - I think you mean Android automatically deleting files, not Android auto... As you were biggrin

hehe Android auto-deletes his downloads. not Android Auto deletes his downloads

Looks like this is a "feature" that you will need to raise with the app author unfortunately frown

In the app you're using can you change the default directory for downloads?

Assuming the auto-deletion only occurs in the Downloads folder in the user data space, this should avoid the files being auto-deleted.

Or the difference between knowing you're st or knowing your st.

(yes, pedants, I know that's grammar not punctuation)

You know the first rule of any post about spelling, punctuation or grammer is "don't make any mistakes" smile.

I like how you misspelt ‘grammar’
