Given the debacle over their fallacious Brexit prosecutions, they only have themselves to blame.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Or will it be Boris having "complete faith" in his team?

You know it is bad when Labour peers call for it to be disbanded...and as for advising vote leave on how to do things and then taking them to court for doing as they were advised, well...I cannot see how anybody could think they were fit for purpose... Oh wait... hehe

I guess it depends if they've held a long-standing belief that the Electoral Commission needs its powers taking away or if it's got anything to do with their recent investigations.

Keeping the Government in check feels like something anyone should welcome.

Maybe it's one of life's little coincidences and it's just me and my cynical mind.

The power to prosecute is going to be with the CPS…presumably the EC will refer cases to them just like the Police do, where they feel it necessary.
