Can they be retro fitted?

If so, at what sort of cost?

£553 from the Noble web site, can't remember if that's fitted though.

I've heard of the retrofit being done in a slightly barbaric fashion, whereby they cut a chassis member, change the sump then reweld the chassis. Apparently its ok, but not an idea I'm totally in love with. Dunno if everyone does it this way. Worth enquiring

Otherwise it will cost a fortune though as the whole engine will have to be lifted I believe.

It's under specifications & in the list of 3r facts & figures. Definitely doesn't say if it's a fitted price though.

Thats probably the cost of upgrading if you specify it from new, i.e. before the engine has been bolted in.

Yes I'm sure the trackday sump was around £500 when fitted to new cars, and around £1100 for a retro-fit.

yes -retro fit it's about 1100+vat - they cut a chassis member which then get's bolted back it so that the sump can be removed again if required.

Hmmm, you'd think the cut chassis member would become a potential point of compromise in future wouldn't you?

Seems very odd to me!

Isnt the track sunp also know as a dry sump??

This has come up in conversation with a completley different car and I was lead to believe that a dry sump was also a track sump????????

No the track sump for the M12 is still a wet sump but with a larger oil capacity and baffling to avoid oil surge/starvation.

A Dry Sump holds oil "outside" of the actual sump in a tank, a pump then scavenges the sump pan (and in some applications other points) and returns the oil to the tank. The advantages are no surge/starvation ever, lower engine height meaning the engine can be mounted lower in the car to reduce CofG and various other minor posistives.

thanx for that. I think I have misinterpreted what was being described to me when I asked about it....too much technical overload for my liking.

Next question is whether or not a "track day" sump would suit a car that is being driven daily??

Why not? Most of the later build M12's have them. Just meens a bit more oil to put in at service

Brake line upgrade to solid brakes incl pedal upgrade to heel and toe £787.70 plus VAT

Pedal upgrade only £160.00 plus VAT

Upgrade to M400 shocks and springs £1,842.00 plus VAT

Oil temp/pressure gauge £364 plus VAT

Anti roll bar £806.00 plus VAT

On the subject of Upgrades, has anybody here had the Noble Stage 4 upgrade done on their M12. If so, what is invovled and what kinda money we talking of here??

Mose,
the Noble stage 4 upgrade, is LOTS of money, I know when i chatted to him, he was selling his demmo 3R that has all the work done - bigger turbos, omex ecu, intercooler etc.
This is not Nobel auto, but john Noble motorsport, and will void warranty.... just thought I would put that to save the factory having to type it

Gotcha

Sounds very tempting though.

So doesnt Lee Nobleoffer any kind of factory upgrade at all?? Or is he completely satisfied with the end result?
