Porsche Mobile Connect Charger Installation Question(UK)
Discussion
Hi PistonHeads!
I have a 2020 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, our electrician just installed the Porsche Mobile Connect with 32A cabling to our consumer unit. The problem is that the Connect software only allows me to draw 16A. I do not have 3-phase.
How do I get 32A charging?
One issue is that I'm waiting on a 32A circuit breaker (MCB) to be fit to the consumer unit. Currently, there is only a 20A one. Perhaps the Mobile Connect detects the Amps of the MCB?!
thanks
Mark

Not possible for it to intelligently know the current capability of supply - sounds like it was programmed that way - suspect (certainly hope) that the electrician knew you didn’t have sufficient capacity so current limited the charger (either in software or a hardware switch within).

I am no electrician, but surely with a 20 amp circuit breaker it’s rather helpful that you can’t draw 32! Cos the breaker would do what it was designed to be drop the supply to zero
Ha ha yes, fair point!
I certainly don't want to melt anything, I just thought as the MCB is 20A why is the software limiting to 16A max
