Not had any in ages for one reason or another, but my son was in Rusholme today and was instructed to get a box from the Sanam Sweet House.

Oh my god, forgot how awesome they are, had steak and chips then a brew and some of the sweets, incredible.

Must be 8 or 10 years since I had them, wont be so long now, delicious.

Anyone else a fan ?

If you have never tried them, give them a go.

Aye, Mithai is good. Very much depends on your tastes, the normal Barfi stuff is what i go for, not so keen on the wet/sticky stuff.

Same with the Lebanese type stuff, the cake-ey types I like, not so keen on the sticky baclava (they have a baclava stand in a london market, in summer the wasps just fly under the counter and dig in laugh )

Yep, love ‘em. Mrs U makes great burfi, and when we’re in Leicester we always pop in to either Bobby’s on Melton Road or Mithaas on Narborough Road for some goodies.

Freshly cooked and still warm Jalebi in Southall.

Ladoo prepared at Diwali in Leicester.

Rasmalai after a nice evening meal in Bradford.

Barfi gets a look in with pink tea.

(Also like Greek desserts and some of the middle eastern sweets).

Have a sweet tooth, love Punjabi food and also deserts.

That's a lot of miles to rack up in a day for some sweets. Can you not just get the Jalebi and a Snickers or something.

Love various Indian sweets but the calories and sugar mean they are a very very occasional treat

Gulab jamun are my favourite. Must be ice cold though. I don't like them warm.

Partial to them but as others highlighted above, they are very sweet so an occasional treat. I particularly like kheer.

MMMM they are the best, but I have to have them piping hot fried in ghee, have you ever tried the savory version ?

Worth giving a go biggrin
