Just managed to get myself a sport 160. Wow!!

Out of interest, has anyone noticed any problems with the front suspension? It has to be about 6 inches lower than my S1 and wondered if there is ever any contact between the tyre and the clam? Or even tyre and the arches...

Nice one mate - what did you get (spec etc.)?

Yeah, they do run v v low compared to standard (100/110 vs. 140/140). Under heavy load on lock they can foul the arches so beware. I'm planning on getting mine raised up to about 110/120 to overcome that. Also the bottom of the front clam scrapes sometimes. Still runs low on the slightly higher settings and looks as good.

Also I've been told the LSS dampers are too soft so aren't great. If and when a bonus comes in and I start tracking it I'll be considering an upgrade of some sort.

Good lad

Its pretty much identical to yours tim, except not the 160s (i think). Metallic black, k&n filter, which i'm going to swap to my old itg, de-catted, sports seats and 4 point harnesses.

I think i might have fouled the drivers side arch on full lock. There is a small crack on the edge of the clam, above the arch. Is this possible to fix without forking out for an entire clam?

I have one other question which i know you'll be able to answer. It gets much hotter inside, especially the driver's side dash, and when i open the bonnet it is again rather hot. Is this unusual for the 160?

The drivers side gets hotter as the oil cooler pipes run down that side (assuming yours is one of the 160s with one fitted).

I've had wheel arch damage on both my Lotuses - an S1 111S on LSS and also on the 160. Only happens on the lower settings and if you're hooning it hard.

The LSS was finally shot, so I've just replaced it with Nitrons

Ah, any excuse for nitrons. lol

It really is a tiny amount of damage, say 1.5cm. Does it cost much to put right?

I did that with mine sport 160 when doing a 3 point turn on some un-even road. Took a small chunk out! painted it black for the time being, with it being so low, you dont notice the damage..

Should be repairable buy a decent fibreglass repairers. Few hundred quid probably once it's been repaired, prepped and painted.
