So, later today I have a 116i, 160000, 2005, arriving to view. on its last MOT it’s got on it, Minor Oil Leak, poss rear dif?
It’s been negotiated to £750.
The guy is saying it’s being sold because it’s taking too much room up on his drive, he’s purchased a new car.

On checking on vehicle mot site, he’s only had the car a few weeks!!!! 🤔

I could do with a few pointers on wether I’m getting my pants pulled or is it worth a punt.

Cheers for any advise 🤞

I wouldn't bother. The 116i is very slow and the engine if it's the same as my 118i (2009 model) was a nightmare and unreliable. A 1-series of that vintage I would only plump for a 118d or above. Avoid petrol unless the 3.0.

Walk away. Actually, don't even bother to view it. Lots of better alternatives (if you're not in a hurry).
You said he's only had it a few weeks, so that should tell you something. Let your head rule, not
your heart.

It's landfill.

But for £500 you could run it until it expires, chop the £400 catalytic converter off and weigh the rest in.
