Reviews aren't great.

Same here, have been with FD for 20 years and very happy with them

App is fine, new payments are a bit fiddly to set up, but generally its easy to use

Been with them over 20 years.
App does what I need for my limited day to day banking.

It’s great and the people on the phone are extremely helpful getting you set up on it. My parents in their 70’s use it with no issues too.

It's fine.

Oh, and if you call them at 2am they actually answer the phone!

And if you phone them at 3am when you've locked your debit card because you drunkenly entered the wrong pin too many times, They even keep their sniggering to a minimum as they sort it out.

Best banking app i’ve used in terms of ease of use and interface.

Also, best banking experience with being able to call and phone answered instantly outside peak hours!

The best thing I can say about first direct having been with them for nearly 30 years, is they are transparent they don't impact on my life, yes you can get better rates elsewhere but as a package the service just works.

The offset mortgage facility when I needed it worked all to well ;-) Browsing the classifieds has never been more dangerous than when I had one!

FD's app is a million times better than the NatWest app.

Been with FD for 25+ years. I think they benefit from being a bank that has NEVER had a physical branch, so have got phone banking customer service pretty much perfect after all that time. They've never failed to sort out an issue when I've rung them, no buck passing or "ring this other team on another number" bks. Also the Android App is fine, never had any issues with it.

The FD app looks simple but works very well. Easy to see what’s there, and do what you need to do. A low limit (can’t recall the number) on cheque paying in is the only niggle, but that may not be FD only, No issues in 10 years or whatever,
Also have the RBS app (I guess similar to NatWest as same group) and it can be a pain... they keep changing it, it jumps out to other websites, tries to look pretty but just feels clunky,

Been with them since 1997.
Never had issues.
Have an offset mortgage with them as well.

App is fine - not cumbersom and can see balances on all acounts onteh front page.
Going into each account allows you to see teh last few transactions.
There is a floating button that allows you to set up payments, view / alter etc ....

Basically it does prety much all that I want it to.

I hardly phone them any more, and on the ocasssions that I have done (4 times this year I think), they always ask if I had issues doing whateever i want to do via the app. At first it annoyed me, but the more I think about it, it is becasue they want to make all banking available via said app.

Overall, I can't fault them.

If soneone introduces them there is a cash incentive ..... just sayin

I've been with them since they opened. They're good, and the App is idiot proof.

However the phone call experience has deteriorated substantially since they opened. It used to be the case that you always got through almost straight away. Now you are almost always on hold until an Operator becomes free.

I've been with them since 1990 & never had a complaint - not a single one.

As others have said, the app is fully functional - I can see my balance, transactions, pay in cheques, make payments & transfers. Never had a glitch with it.

Phone support is great - agree that wait times have got a little longer, but you get through to someone in the UK who understands what you are asking for and can deal with it efficiently.

What do these reviews criticise ? FD usually come out top of most satisfaction surveys.

That's not my experience; I always get through after 2-3 rings. Maybe it's down to time of day.

A happy comparison with most companies now who make you listen to a two-minute recorded message telling you how much quicker it is to go on-line and log in yada-blah... No, if I could solve it on-line I'd have done so, just answer the goddamn phone!
