Giulia Quadrifoglio - Man Maths
Discussion
Morning
So I am musing the legendary Quad.
Couple of nice 2020 cars (MY19) with 8k miles at £53k in the AUC network with the 5-3-5 packs.
Trying to do the man maths of having one of these newer ones for 2 years and taking it to 25k miles vs an alternative £45k 2018 / 20k miles car with no warranty or service packs.
So newer car - £53k now - £45k (?) private resale with 25k on the clock = £8k depreciation but no servicing, recovery or warranty
Older car - £45k now - £40k (?) resale with 45k on the clock = £5k depreciation but say £3k for warranty, servicing, recovery
Seems like a nil sum game (excluding cost of capital).....so go newer and have a lower risk ownership proposition?
Thoughts?

I'm the eternal optimist but I think your projected resale values are too high.
In March this year I bought a 2018 reg QF with 30,000 miles for £40k. I then bought the extended warranty pack for circa £650 from Lipscomb Alfa (who were brilliant to deal with).
I'm holding out until next year when I suspect the revised interior models will be down to £40k and I'll get another. This would mean the prices of the previous models will probably be around early to mid £30k.
Disclaimer: I'm no used car expert and far from a maths genius.

IIRC my 2 year extended warranty + 3 year service plan was about £1700So I am musing the legendary Quad.

I watch the market closely, QVs are rising in value and should continue to do but very mileage sensitive. Stopping production has helped and the monstrosity that is the BMW G80, final last non electric M3, selling OK but for anyone that taste hasn't circumvented leaves only only choice and supply is limited. A dire dealer network is the only sticking point, all imo obviously.
