Ground clearance and car parks
Discussion
Hi All,
I am hoping to tap into the collective knowledge on this forum before setting my heart on the impractical.
After visiting a car show today and trying a Noble I have decided that I badly want one instead of a 911, the only concern I have (apart from finding the right one)is ground clearance. This will be my everyday car and as such I will have to leave it in the multi-storey car park at work, does anybody have much experience of driving their Noble in such a car park and have the narrow speed bumps and up/down ramps caused clearance problems? If it makes a difference I will be looking at the 250 or 300.
Any words of advise are greatly appreciated.
James.

Well I've had mine all of 48 hours and the "approach at 45 degrees" method definately works for speed-humps etc When I picked the car up I'd been nervous for a week about that very issue and I deliberately drove to work where we have several just to put my mind at rest.. I have a slight incline at the approach to our driveway and thats the only one I can't quite master yet.
Heathrow short term car park is fine (which is very steep), even in the M12 if you just take the ramps at a slight angle. Of course, if you remove the "splitter" that is on the M12 (to make it like an M400) then it's far better than most other sports cars (e.g. much better than my Ur-Quattro or the Elise).

DanH said:Canary Wharf underground is a bit like that, but the normal spiral ones like Croydon, Uxbridge etc. all seem fine.
Other issue is turning circle. If its a very tight carpark, or one with a spiral exit ramp it won't be much fun.
Of course if you get an M400 you don't have any of these problems
