Yesterday in practice, I thought Bradley Ray looked very good.

I think it could be either Christian Iddon or Jason O’ Halloran this year. My personal favourite would be Tommy Bridewell.

Yeah i agree , i've been banging on about bridewell on here for a decade , at some point it's got to happen .

The rider i'm interested in is Danny Kent can he do a redding and get his head down and win the title .

Hickman looked good but that arm pump will need sorting quickly. O'Halloran was sublime. Pleased for Taylor Mackenzie in the stockers

Re Hickman not what you want after the first race weekend.

Move of the weekend has to be o'halloran mugging iddon on the last turn of the last lap.

I have decided to make more of an effort to get in to BSB this season and the first weekend didnt disappoint.

It looks like O'Halloran played it perfectly, sit behind Iddon until the end and then strike when Christian didnt really have a chance to come back at him.

I'll hang my head in shame!

I want to try to get to a few of the rounds to spectate this year, (Donington and Silverstone are the closest tracks) but the govt needs to play ball for that to happen!

I was also pleased for Taylor Mackenzie. He comes across on his YouTube channel as being a really humble guy and it can’t be easy with the ‘expectations’ due to having a Father who was Britain’s Top Rider for a number of years.

Interesting that you say that as something doesn't quite sit right with me on the way he has gone about funding (begging his viewers to give him money) so he can go racing this season ... Sorry, I mean 'Join him on his Journey'

As far as I can gather he was always on for a ride with Bathams in SS1000 this year but the ride with them wasn't announced until fairly late on.

In the meantime he sets up this gofundme type thing where people can donate money in order for him to go racing this year.

Now I doubt he will have got a huge amount of money donated from the general public, but even if someone has donated £100 or so I'd be mighty cheesed off seeing him farming out work to specialists to restore his TY80 and then to see him going out and buying 3 other bikes to restore recently.

If things were that tight that you need to beg the general public (because that is basically what he has done) to give you money to go racing, / join him on his journey then I can't see how you can have 'spare' money to buy and restore other motorbikes? It just doesn't sit well with me.

I wasn’t aware he’d bought 3 other bikes. What are they.

An original Monkey Bike and 2 other old Yamaha's, I can't remember which models though.

I've no sympathy for anyone handing over money so someone else can spunk it all on racing instead of funding it themselves. I thought at the time he started that funding page, surely his old man's got a bob or two to get his son racing. But can't knock him, it's better to spend someone else's money than your own!

Wow, there are some miserable gits on here. If anyone bothered to watch Taylor’s YouTube channel they would understand better. He didn’t ask for money, he asked people to watch the adverts rather than skip them, this gave him better revenue from his channel. He also managed to increase his subscriber levels, including Mark Marquez! This makes him more attractive to external sponsorship and also provided him with a package he could present to a team.
Every racer has to raise money. I think Taylor has done an excellent job. He produces good content on his channel, provides an insight to idiots like me on the life of a racer and also the funny stuff like mad mark.
I was delighted for him getting the Batham’s ride and winning this weekend.

Not exactly, he asked for 3 things.

1. Don't skip the YouTube ads.
2. Use an Amazon link.
3. Subscribe to Patreon.

Those names you see on screen are his patreon subscribers who have joined him on his journey.
So Marquez might be giving him money via patreon? Or it could just be somebody who has registered under that name?

Fair enough, I stand corrected. thumbup but nobody forces you to join patreon. I have a lot of admiration for the lad. Having broken his leg, being dumped by his team, he found a way back, applied himself, set up business options, and is now producing results. All power to him I say and looking forward to being at Cadwell to watch biggrin

He’s won the first race in a highly competitive class, with some great names in it. He’s always gone well in the Superstock class including being champion in 2016. I’ve often wondered why he’s never won in the Superbike class.

Hicky was going well - I hope he can sort the arm-pump issue because he is so talented!

You don't get to set the fastest lap of the IOM TT circuit by accident.
