Help - Alarm Synchronising

I know its my own fault for not fitting an accumate yet but I went out this morning and the battery wouldn't quite start the engine.:( Unfortunately, the door control mechanism then decided to open and shut in rapid succession and repeated without stopping. Thanks the reading on here, I realised I had to unplug the control unit in the boot and hey presto, the locks behaved themselves :) Quick use of the jump leads and its off we go!

The only problem now is that the key fob isn't synched to the alarm in the car so won't switch the immobiliser off or lock the doors. I can use the car by inserting the small key type thingy into the dash but I can't say I'm happy about leaving her unlocked.

I've read the manual and it says the dealer can re-synch them but finding the time to get to the garage ain't easy and I bet they just follow a simple procedure (here's hoping!). So, if anyone can tell me how to do it, I'd be very grateful. Mail me off-line if there's anything security-wise about this that could be a problem.

I tried the search facility but just my luck, it's not working tonight.

Incidentally, I also read that the indicators should flash 3 times when I do lock it, but it always flashed 4 times before today's escapade. I wonder why?
