It said on the can 'you've won a £15k 24 carat gold Hazy Jane can'. Once I'd got over the shock I wanted to cover it on my house insurance. I got in touch with the can's makers, Thomas Lyte, who told me it was actually brass with a 24 carat gold plating.

"I had it valued by a jewellery expert. He told me it was only worth £500.

See if Brewdog will buy it back for £10-12K
Get a number of independent valuations.
See if Brewdog can find any independent who will publicly have their reputation on a £15K valuation.
Just maximise reputation damage to the Brewdog brand ( eg Hoover free flights fiasco )

If Brewdog will buy it for £15K then it's worth £15k, so surely that's the easy out.

He tried that, they refused. Said it was only in the marketing not in the T&Cs.

Nail in the coffin on BrewDog from my perspective, they have two bars/pubs in town that I've been to often enough. Never again.

To be fair, their frozen nibbles are delicious! Doesn’t hide bad management though!

I can see this having legs, could cost them a packet plus brand damage, etc.

Hope those who found the cans get £15k each as advertised.

Reminds me of a competition I was sort of involved with 20 or years ago for (IIRC) Mcewans Export.
The ring pull had a sound chip in, which was made in China and shipped to the UK for installation at the canners.
UK Supplier ordered, from China the following:
1 x 50,000 winning sound chips ( you got a recorded message when you opened the can)
50,000 x £1 winning sound chips.
Chinese factory got their wires crossed and instead of 100,000 worth of prizes, there was £2.5 million.
Mcewans sent a member of staff to China to oversee the destruction of the chips!

The company said the £15,000 value was "reasonable based on multiple factors", including the manufacturing price, metal, and quality of the product. Brewdog added that the cans were collectible items, with the value "somewhat detached from the cost of materials".
Seems legit.

Convenient reason is convenient.

They'll plead the Tucker Carlson / Sidney Powell defence, and claim that no reasonable person would actually believe a word they say.

They might have some grounds for success, since they've been claiming to produce beer for years, whereas any reasonable person would immediately identify their products as syphilitic horse piss.
