For some reason I can't get the search facility to work so can anyone help. I stopped to fill up with petrol yesterday on my way from Cheshire to London. Reset the trip clock as usual and then noticed about 20mins later that it was only reading 10miles or so. Knowing I had done more than that I reset it again and now it is stubbornly refusing to budge from zero. I also noticed that the main clock has not moved either. The speedo seems to be working fine. Any suggestions?

1. Purcussive maintenance (give it a whack)
2. Leave it (it will get better on it's own)
3. Driving in reverse sometimes will free it

Unless your stuck on a 9999 mileage, I'd say you've joined me in the knackered speedo club.

My speedo won't drop below 40. Added to that, at a fuel station I pressed the trip switch & it dissapeared into the dark depths of the speedo.

I managed to get it surgically removed via tweesers, but the little stick came out completely.

It's been sent off for repair

i can only support the above. Mine has done this from time to time, and more often than not a good 20 minute drive and a few whacks to the top of the instrument panel got it going again

My speedo worked fine but the odometer wouldn't budge, wasn't stuck at ..999 either. Have a look at my profile to see how I fixed it. Not for the faint hearted but is still working to this day.
