Its not cool having to get in the wrong side

Had car a week now 99 chim and already the drivers door wont open, I expected to have to do some work but this was a bit quick, But in defence i have probley got in and out the car as many times as most people in a year. These cars are that good if you havent got one,
So the door i press the button and can hear a click b ut the door (it dont a open) so how do i sort it in simple terms please i want to have a go at this

Can you open it from the central knob?
If so, you can then see whether the striker or lock mechanism has come loose. The "gubbins" for the door latch/locks is behind the velcro carpeted panels at the side & behind the seats. You may need to move the rubber door surround to open these panels. You can then manually test all the different cable actuators to see what is wrong.

Yes it can be opened from the inside with the knob
