Paintball questions?

I tried Paintabll at the weekend, and have an interesting variety of circular bruises to prove it.

I enjoyed it and would like to try it again sometime.

However there were some issues spoiling my enjoyment.

The guns kept jamming( they blamed it on the heat),is this a common occurence?

There were too many in each team to start with -at least 25 on each side (with only 2 marshalls)-again is this usual?.

If not, are there better paintball firm's out there in the South East?.

I've never come across the heat/soft paintball thing, but have experienced first hand the cold/hard paintball thing...ouch.
25 a side? jeesh, thats an awful lot of paint in the air when everyone kicks off!!, especially if you find yourself somewhere in the middle of it.

Couldn't tell you about paintballing in the south east, as I'm from Devon, but even we are spoilt for choice down here. There must be others for you to try.

I tried it for the first time last weekend at a place called Delta Force which is just off j4 of the M42. Great fun!!

I've been paintballing in this sort of temperature, and never had any real problems with the guns jamming. Sounds more like poorly maintained guns to me.

25 per team sounds waaaay too much. I've only got experience of a couple of paintballing places, but both used 3/4 marshalls for a combined group of 25-30 (ie teams of 12-15 each).

I can reccommend Skirmish paintball, near East Grinstead. Don't know if that's close to you...

Did the same on my stag do, was a right laugh.

Apart from the bit when my mates thought it funny to shoot me in the head at point blank range, which just about knocked me out!

Delta Force www.paintballgames.co.uk/index.htm have a place in Bourne End (near Hemel Hempstead) which is quite good - had a company do there a while back.

Teams are still a fair size, but then so are the areas you're playing in. I guess it depends on the numbers on the day - there were a lot of people there.

The guns can jam quite easily IIRC - particularly if they get paint in the barrel from trying to fire too quickly. Wasn't a major issue if you were a bit careful though.

Tell me about it,the game zones seemed designed for less people, so there wasn't really enough cover for everyone.

I also went paintballing on my stag do.

The good thing is that my brother in law tried to stitch me up by forcing me to wear a bright blue life preserver to make me stand out a mile. It backfired, as it effectively worked like a bullet-proof vest for paintballs; they just bounced off without breaking or leaving any bruises! Can't say the same for my best man, though, who the term "black & blue" was practically invented for!

Don't have enough experience to call it really, but if you didn't get any balls caught in the breach or get any moisture in the wrong places they were fine. Plenty of spares too, so if anything did go wrong you just swapped.

You're in luck then, it's a great venue. Excellent marshalls, really good varied game zones, paint bombs + smoke grenades available! I've been 4/5 times and never had a bad time, even in the cold and mud!
