Something seems a bit fishy here...

Would the body of the fishing boat really be that low that he could get himself up? It's not like they have long arms or anything.

Sounds like they've tried everything to keep him away and nothing is working, I wonder what he's so interested in?

Is it like the old cartoon Pepe Le Pew, has he mistaken one of the pleasure craft owners voluptuous wife's as a potential Mrs Wally hehe

There was a picture of him having a snooze on a sort of diving platform at the back of the Scilly isles ambulance boat the other day. The platform was a couple of feet above the waterline (and he barely fitted onto it) so it seems he can manage to haul out onto a platform/boat deck. Wouldn't want to be the unfortunate boat owner though!

If Wally carries on at this rate, the Germans will be making him an honorary U-boat captain.

Wally was for a while living on the slipway on the old lifeboat station and also on the new one, so the crew had to move him off. In the end I think it was reported it was the number of visitors and boats getting close that scared him off.

Find the right seal, stick a fat suit and some lipstick on her and tow her behind a speed boat. He must be getting horny by now.

Something like him is a bit like snow. An amazing novelty for the first few days. After it sticks around and the problems it causes mount up you just want it GONE.

He’s a bit far from home!, I can understand the residents being annoyed though he can cause considerable damage, how much does a walrus weigh?!.

Let’s hope is doesn’t get to the point where his disruption to humans means they decide that shooting him is the only solution. Such is our belief in our superiority as a species to do what we like when we like that this scenario depressingly will not surprise me, although I hope not..

Perhaps he's just fed up swimming all the time.

I don’t know, given how much effort there was to save that whale who got stuck in the Thames a while back I’d like to think that another option would be sought, although like you sadly I’d not be surprised either.

Sometimes they seem to just like hauling out, and doing a bit of sunbathing, but he did not realize he weighed as much, or possibly even more than the boat he was trying to haul out on?

Many seals in the harbour at San Francisco do this as well, and the jetties they haul out onto, can be quite a distance above the waterline.
