Night vision

I was out with a mate on Thursday night taking advantage of the good weather and enjoying a late evening hoon when my headlights packed up. The sidelights work as does the full beam but the main beam cuts in and out. It is sensitive to bumps in the road so I assume it's a connection problems somewhere. I'll check it all this evening but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so what the solution was?

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago. Check the electrical connectors in the vicinity of the front wheel arches. They have a nasty habit of corroding up because they are in an area where water gets thrown up from the wheels. Yet another design flaw!!!!

My S2 did this - I found that I had a loose connection in the wiring under the steering column...
