My vantage bluetooth is working but i can not get it to play my music,anybody tekky on this,Help,Dave.

Hello, depending on your BT module, but normally BT is just for phone calls. For music, you have to use the iPod port in the center armrest. Of course, you can add a BT dongle to this port to make it wireless, check this thread of mine:

I know you can officially upgrade the AM BT module to add music streaming capabilities, but I don't think many owners went in and retrofitted it, having a way more cost effective solution as above. Newer cars may come with the upgrade module from factory, I just don't know from which MY.

OEM or aftermarket?
If it is OEM you might have to drive to the dealer to check with AMDS computer. In the radio display you will see the option Bluetooth.
If it is aftermarket like a Dension 500, there is a switch somewhere installed to select between CD and Bluetooth streaming with a Bovee Bluetooth Musik Adaptor.

You haven’t stated what type of phone you’re using, or what service you are trying to stream. But, if you are using an iPhone, it won’t allow streaming unless there is some paid for content stored on the device from iTunes. Pay Apple for one track and that should do the trick. Hope that helps a bit.

From your picture it looks like you have a relatively early car. Are you sure you have iPod integration too? If not, you can’t play music from your phone. If the iPod functionality is there, you should have a 30 pin cable connected inside the central armrest, and as mentioned previously, attaching a Bovee is the easiest solution to allow streaming in that type of set up. You should also be able to see iPod as an option in the source menu. Unfortunately, I think on the earlier cars, the Bluetooth option was for phone calls only (as EVR said too).

Said armrest connector should look like this:



If not there, you last chance might be an AUX input (to the left of the connector, not in-frame in my picture) who can just accept a jack cable to the iPhone. That will also need a Lightning/jack adapter.

I use the below, plugs into the armrest with jack in and Bluetooth receiver comes through the Auxiariry on the car stereo, awesome sound and anyone Bluetooth phone works.

Also on another note I just bought an HDMI adapter for a spare Samsung S10+ which goes into the rear seats cubby RCA ports to view videos on the seats screens. my setup comes tomorrow and will work on one screen at a time to test then I will buy an RCA splitter, cost 30 quid not including the phone. Will keep you posted on my plan.

Just remember there are cheap Bluetooth ones and the one above is defo good quality,I have a b and o system in the car and its always streaming bluetooth

Usually, BT dongles talked on here (Invery, Bovee etc.) that connects to the AM/LR iPod port are also receiving power from said port, no need for external USB power. Frees up the USB port for charging the phone instead.
