Well when you're bored you have these crazy ideas and being a tightwad i thought id change my steering wheel for a new (old) Nardi model.

After a couple of hours weilding a dremmel, emery cloth, wet&dry, wire wool and finally some Autosol i came up with this. Methinks it looks pretty good, what do you guys reckon???




Reckon i saved myself about 150 quid (new wheel and boss) and hopefully only reduced my life expectancy by a few weeks (after breathing all the ally' in)

Ok it was more like 3 hours... tell ya what though i put it on the car 3 times b4 i was happy with the polish, in the end i used fine wire wool and autosol and polished it in the vertical direction so it gives a very fine 'grain' if that makes sense. I wouldnt want to do another one!

Perhaps Leven could offer this service on an exchange basis, after all it matches their accessories

I guess i am gonna need to get the autosol out periodically, not too much bother though as it gets cleaned most weekends.

well thats it...going to go home, get the dremel out along with the autosol and see how long it takes to do mine...i have got the leven dash and controls so it might be a bit too much ally in the car!!! shall have to see what it looks like...but yes yours looks really good!!!

Its a bloody air freshener, and it lost all its scent the minute i put it in the car. Halfords rubbish. Keep forgetting to take it off and put my dice back up.
