Hi all,

I have two issues

Ever since moving house and now using a 4g home router (EE), I get very frequent recaptcha I'm not a robot tests when using safari for google searches on my iphone. I assume it's related to the 4G set up?

Second problem is a bigger one, I'm now getting an issue where recaptcha just doesn't go away. Just stays in a constant loop. I can do test after test.

Anything I can do about this. It's more or less made safari unusable.

I get the same problem occasionally when using iPhone directly on 4G via Vodafone, so it isn’t down to your router.

It’s very annoying because, as you say, it seems to just get stuck in a loop.

I also get it with o2, loops the the ‘select the images with a fire hydrant’ ‘select the images with a vehicle’

So bloody annoying, but switch to WiFi and it’s fine again.

It's probably because of CGNAT

Cheers all. It seems resetting history etc does not make it go away although for now at least it did go away a little later but I know the problem will be back again at some point.

What is CGNAT?

Basically you are sharing a single public IP (IPv4) address with other EE customers. This doesn't play well with things like recaptcha and is far more likely to be flagged as requiring a challenge than where each customer has their own public IP address assigned (which is typical for broadband).

So I guess no avoiding it then but what is the deal with constant loop? Am I in fact a robot?

Pull out your plug and see if you go a bit quiet.
