So here it starts, first post for the restoration of this 1992 2 door Range Rover. It won’t be a period correct car as there are lots of nice mods and upgraded parts to choose from. Budget isn’t huge but with careful planning I’m sure I can finish up with something nice to look at and drive.
Below is a picture of the old girl being picked up and trailered away. Hopefully not too much rust under those ali body panels as it has come from a hot climate country.
Initial thoughts on paint is a plain gloss finish in Land Rover Keswick green or Pastel green with possibly the roof in Land Rover limestone. I could then trim the interior in a biscuit or porcelain green leather with a contrasting piping. Carpet could be a darker green perhaps? Not sure yet as it’s early days.
Engine will be a Rover v8 in 4.2 guise with an auto box. Wheels wise I like the late p38 vogue 18’s split 5 spokes. They have a nice dished rim to polish with colour coded spokes. I have a rotten 92’ 4 door vogue se donor to use for the gadgets.
Roughly I can see a finished car in about 2 years. Pictures I’ll post as and when, if there is any interest im happy for any comments especially if I’ve missed something obvious.
Wish me luck smile

Beautiful car. My dad had a couple of these when I was young and it was epic.

I thought they had stopped making 2 doors by 1992...I remember them being around in the early 80's though

Nice! Latest age wise 2 door I’ve seen is one of the CSKs.

I’m not 100% sure but I believe the csk version was the last U.K. 2 door in 90/91. 2 doors after that were export only. The car in the picture above is a 1992 LHD which I’ll convert using parts from the rotten RHD car I also have. I’ll try where possible to build my version of a 2 door vogue se. Like I’ve said early days yet. In theory it all sounds reasonable easy but there will be engineering and fitting issues. Below is the picture of the 4 door donor. Rather than literally scrap her I decided to do this project instead smile
