So my car has been to a BMW main dealer 4 times in an effort to fix an issue. Each time they have acknowledged it and said they fixed it when they hadn't. With the last time resulting in "the best they can do". It is under warranty so I'm wondering what my next step is. Speak to BMW Warranty company and take it to a different dealer? I've already paid the excess to the first dealer so I suppose a different dealer would want to be paid too?

What is the fault?

If you go to Customer services and insist you want to go to another dealership without paying the excess for it I don't see how they could refuse you unless it is a Used Car Warranty that may have restrictions on what is covered.

I have a BMW extended comprehensive warranty.

The fault is one of the windows not going all the way up. When you open the doors, the windows drop a bit to clear the seals and then go back up when the door is closed. One goes back up a bit but not as much as it should do so I get excessive wind noise at motorway speeds and some water ingress near the wing mirror during heavy rain/car washing.

I'm sure you/BMW have already tried resetting the window regulator limits?

Speak to Mondial, the underwriters, and explain the situation. There are serious variances between dealers but that shouldn't be your problem. Larger dealer groups don't seem to give a st. Smaller BMW dealers do seem to care more. If they've taken your deposit (and therefore they've also got the money from Mondial) then they should have got a satisfactory outcome. It's not the best they can do as I am pretty sure if they changed the entire door, that would be better. You could also speak to the dealer principal, to bypass the minions.

Last resort is a regulated complaint with Mondial and then FOS but it shouldn't come to that.
