Who likes shopping?

Not me. Although I don’t mind food shopping - often I take the dog for a walk, have a coffee and pop into the supermarket for some bits and pieces. However, clothes shopping, buying stuff for the house or anything else: really not my cup of tea.
I did go through a phase of buying Italian clothes, Italian furniture and Swiss watches but have gone in the other direction and now if I do buy stuff I’m more drawn towards bargains.
Even shopping for cars and bikes doesn’t get me excited like it did in the past. I used to do lots of test drives and test rides and was constantly changing vehicles but have seem to have lost the enthusiasm (maybe because I can’t think of a better bike and cars are a bit dull in comparison to the bike).
Might just be an age thing.

I was in IKEA on Saturday and a soft furnishings shop on Sunday.
Thats the very worst kind of shopping in my opinion. Its a nececcery evil but really I can't stand it.
I'm getting more bored or casual shopping too, probably because I now have a daughter who is getting bothered by what's in fashion in a big way its becoming a massive pain and I'm slowly trying to encourage the wife to take the daughters on girls shopping trips so I can bow out of it.

This feels like a 20yr old thread! With the exception of food, I do 95%+ of my shopping online.
I'd still want to test drive cars (and something like a sofa, for that matter), but beyond that, it bemuses me that anyone chooses to go to physical stores any more.
Even for things like DIY supplies I need mid job, I can at least check the likes of Toolstation and Screwfix websites to make sure what I need will be there when I arrive and at the best price.

I do clothes shopping on a 2.5-3yr cycle. Hateful experience. My wife refuses to come with me because I zoom from one shop to the next just looking at the sole item I'm interested in buying.
Ill tend to spend one day on the hunt for shorts and trousers that fit and are comfy. Then I'll buy three or four pairs of each and be done with it for a while.
Tshirts are less of an issue as I just go to fatface and pick a few up.
Shoes I only ever get Nike AF1 trainers, walking boots or posh shoes courtesy of my wife's job.
For furniture we tend to get reclaimed or old second hand stuff. I like hunting these things out. Whether it's online or going to these reclamation or house/commercial clearance places. There's something nice about finding that one peice that fits the bill exactly.

General day to day shopping I can’t stand, really not a people person and I get quite anxious in loud crowded areas, like supermarkets. Clothes shopping is a living nightmare, completely hate the faff of trying things on and people being everywhere. Only ever do it as late as I can so the shop is as quiet as possible, tell the ‘helpful’ staff to leave me alone (politely) and then get it done as quickly as possible. Most likely why I spend most of my time in a shirt/tee shirt and jeans as I know my sizes and can just pick them up with minimal fuss.
Only types of shopping I like are for my hobbies, cars, fishing, shooting, camping/outdoors stuff, woodworking etc. Again I do it when I think the shops will be quiet so I can browse the stock in peace.

What's holding you back from online food shopping? It's great.Nowadays I pop in the supermarket on my way home for the odd carton of milk, but otherwise the essentials get delivered, and other "food" shopping is in smaller beer/wine/cheese/bakery/etc shops.
25 years ago I loved it, when I was at Uni I would go into town most days and look at all the things I would buy if I had the money. I would spend hours in the Virgin Megastore looking at CDs and PC games that I wanted but couldn't afford.
Now when I go to the shops I quickly realise there is not a single thing I actually want now that I can afford it. If I want a PC game I download it on steam, any music or film ever made is pretty much available instantly.
This immediate accessibility of games, films and music has pretty much ruined it for me as that going to the shop and holding the physical product in your hand was a big part of the experience.
When I do actually want to purchase something I tend to find nobody has that item in stock so I end up going home and ordering it on the internet anyway. I still buy clothes on the high street but I know the exact shops I like and I would only go there if there was something specific I needed.
Nothing beats going to a store and walking away with the item you want but I find that is a rare occurrence as nobody has stock and it is usually cheaper online anyway.
I think I am at the point now where aside from clothes and food I would never have to use the high street again.

Don't mind food shopping, I do the vast majority of it. I prefer though smaller supermarkets like Aldi and Lidl as you can get in, do your weekly shop and out in about 45 minutes and there's still time to check out the one off promotional stuff.
I like the fact there is generally only 1 or 2 versions of a food stuff as opposed to many, many versions in the big name supermarkets, it just makes everything so much easier, they also don't bugger about with moving products, they are generally always in the same spot.

I don't mind shopping, so long as it isn't too busy. I won't go to any sort of shopping area on a Saturday

If I go clothes shopping, it's usually early in the morning, unless I'm going to Slater's as it's always quiet
But it has to be absolutely first thing in the morning literally as it opens so it's quiet and the trip must conclude with at least two hot dogs.We always do IKEA on a Friday evening. It's usually deserted.
