Not surprising considering the draconian way that Australia handles Covid.

Yeah was never going to happen with things as they are. Even Australian citizens can't visit Australia right now.

Would be surprised if it happens next year given their vaccination rate.

Actually they can - they just have to get in line with the rest of the world.

Good riddance.

Shame we'll probably be there next season for the usual season opening borefest.

Can't see it happening next year either, they have some dream world thinking about covid where they think they can achieve zero cases and lockdown at the drop of a hat.

Shame for those that go to the race, but the only excitement comes from it usually being the first race of the season. Other than that - meh. Maybe we’ll get a replacement race somewhere decent.

Tricky timing to fill the gap, that basically leaves a month with no race between Brazil and Saudi Arabia, neither of which are obvious ones to double up on.

Time of the year means Europe is pretty much off the table.

Surely the Saudi's would jump at the chance for a double header?

Why not?

Two at Brazil would mean a quadruple header. Not outside the realms of possibility, but I imagine they'd avoid that if at all possible.

I guess a double header at Saudi could work, looking at the dates, with one slotted in at the end of November.

Would like to see the Bahrain short track back, Did say at the start they should have just done consecutive weekends there

I don’t even know why they took it out in the first place. Bahrain short was fun

It doesnt surprise me.

Ive got some Aussie friends, and the Covid situation down there is far worse than people realise.

They did an amazing job of locking down last year and controlling the initial wave, but thats it.....

....to date less than 5% of the population are vaccinated and people are getting angry at the government over the state of affairs.

They've gotta replace it, otherwise we have a full month between races.

The upside of that is, it means that if a.n.other venue is not available, they could use the weekend of Nov 12-14 instead potentially.

Bahrain has the FIA WEC the weekend that was due to be Austrialian F1.... so if it was going to be there they would have to do as I suggested above.

Brazil to Bahrain is a fair trek in 3 days mind, and two consecutive top level international FIA events in two weeks might be a bit much for Bahrain circuit logistically too.
