Hi Guys
I'm getting this code on my 08 V8V, i've only had the car 2 weeks and the code has come on twice after clearing it, usually within 50klm of driving. Code reads 02 sensor circuit, slow response bank 2 sensor 1 which from reading through other posts is drivers side upper sensor and is either the following: plugs, coil packs, filter or the sensor itself. The car is due a service. The posts relating to the above are quite old so just wondered if any other insights were available or does the old info still stand? I'm in Australia so mechanics who know these cars are few and far between. What should I try first or should I just live with clearing the code every 50klms?

If it a slow bank sensor error code, this is usually a sign that the lambda sensor is faulty.
I used to get them every so often and would clear the code (as I knew it wasn't anything catastrophic), but eventually just bought some new sensors and fitted them. No error codes since.
I did buy the AM sensors which cost about £120 each, but an easy job to swap over.

NGK part number OZA816-EE1 replaces OZA488-AM1 for the upper or front sensor - same one both sides. 95598 stock number.
NGK part number OZA836-EE13 replaces OZA381-AM1 for the rear or downstream sensor. 92107 stock number.
Identical sensors other than different part numbers because the front sensor has a shorter wire than the rears originally.

A Google search of the upper part number in the UK is £50 or less with a similar price for the downstream one. The sensors are fitted to Ford, Jaguar, Mazda etc.

Both sensors are identical except that in rationalising their stock, NGK (more correctly NTK) make them with one length of wire now. This will be too long for the front but they include a couple of small tie wraps (hence different part number) so you can loop them to keep them out the way.
