Trying to hang a rope on a stanchion; widget needed
Discussion
I'd like to keep the front lines coiled up nicely on a hook, to keep them off the foredeck.
I have two s/s hooks, U-shaped with one side longer than the other, and the U part is just the right size for the coil.
The ideal place is halfway up the pulpit stanchion, which slopes forward at about 30 degrees. I want the hook to be vertical on this. Attempts to drill holes in the stanchion and screw the hook on directly have been problematic.
So I'm looking for something like this https://www.whitworths.com.au/stainless-steel-rail... but able to have the two parts at an angle. There might need to be a round plate in-between the two parts to screw into.
Mounting them on the horizontal (top) part of the pulpit will be too high, and clamp-on hooks for lifebelts are too big.
Any ideas please?

Probably overkill for what you're looking for but the mounting plates look like they have options to angle the hook in different positions.

The mounting part is good, but the hook about 3x too big. Maybe I could squash the 'U' part flatter and cut the back end short... I might see if I can find them on Amazon for a closer look. Ta!Ayahuasca said:

What's wrong with a clove hitch?
To hang a coil of rope on?Or, put the coil on top of the pulpit, and tuck one side of the coil into the other.
That's a much better method. Tidier and if you need rope in a hurry it's far quicker to undo.https://www.plastimo.com/en/deck-equipment-rigging...

Plastic but might give you an idea.

For 8 fenders? No, I have better things to do. All river cruisers have fenders down anyway, it's not the Spithead Review

Aha now those look handy! Looks like I can fit the existing hooks into them https://www.plastimo.com/en/support-plasticlip-mul...

It should be treated as such at all times!
When I was in the Navy, we quite often used to take small boats out from the College at Dartmouth and if you didn't have your fenders in, or moored up somewhere without cheesed down lines, some grumpy retired Admiral would ring the college Commander and complain.

Us salty seamen who don't shower or change underwear twice a day and sail out of sight of land and everything will have warps and fenders stowed in the locker the moment the helm has steerage way.
Round these parts leaving your fenders dangling over the side is considered extremely Romford Navy - which absolutely won't do at all.
