Seems I can't buy US (NASDAQ/NYSE) shares to keep in a Fidelity ISA. Which other provider does the PH collective recommend. Require sensible costs and good online access as well as the usual reliable/trustworthy etc.

Thanks.

If you're dabbling Trading 212 allows US stocks in an ISA. They're ok but best with more mainstream stocks with good liquidity.

My main bug bear is sometimes they just don't seem to process orders, for instance I placed a buy for WISE yesterday lunchtime that went unactioned all day.

For more serious money I'd go with the HL suggestion above...

AJ Bell look like they can deal in US stocks - or at least those available as CDIs:

seconded for AJBell. It was a toss up for me between them and HL when i decided on my SIPP provider but key for me was also ASX stocks which AJBell did, in a limited but useful, fashion. No regrets, they hold my SIPP and ISAs, the mobile app is solid and the phone response is always excellent.

If you want flexibility Transact are the best Platform/ISA provider I have come across…..they will let you hold any shares listed on any of the major exchanges….none of this nonsense about a selected list. Same for Fixed Income/Bonds….I have held some properly escort Eric shares and bonds in my accounts over the years and never had a problem. The only restrictions will be the actual ISA restrictions as to wha thou can hold. In terms of dealing they generally process deals once a day but you can do an expres trade….so they’re not set up for people who want to trade very quickly but I’d value being able to buy what I want to buy way above that as I don’t day trade in my ISA/SIPP

The ii ISA allows US stocks (though not most US-domiciled ETFs due to the EU KIID rules I gather). Dealing commission around £5 if you're a frequent trader. FX charge is lower than HL - again, can become relevant for frequent traders as UK ISA rules (unlike SIPP rules) annoyingly don't allow you to hold a USD float so each sell has to be converted back to GBP.

Absolutely avoid, the ISA has ridiculous charges on US stocks with extra charges on exchange rates.

I am unable to set a limit order on a particular US stock that I have with HL.
Also, you need to settle in GBP on HL.
ii allows limit orders etc and allows settlement in USD (amongst other currencies).

I'm using IG,com I can't comment as whether its FOREX rates are better or worse than the other apps as I use it to buy and hold TSLA so I don't trade regulary.
