Game would go ahead - no sports were paused or delayed were they?

For sure there would be a minutes silence at the start of the final - nothing else.

Conversely, had Prince Phillip still been alive, hale, hearty and still performing public engagements, we might be witnessing the BBC suffer a collective major trouser accident as the Royal Correspondent perhaps unwisely asks the Prince live on air for some words of encouragement for the England team as he arrives at Wembley to watch the final, and Pip with a cheeky grin remarking that the last time he'd been in a major international match with the Italians was at a place called Matapan, and hoping that the England team would repeat the trick of comprehensively blowing the opposition out of the water.

Or Betty shuffles off overnight? The plan is for no sport in 2 weeks of national mourning, but there's no way they'd have cancelled the Olympics in 2012 if she'd gone the day before the opening ceremony surely.
