I'd love the help of some of the experienced heads on here...

I've been waiting to buy a G2 Panamera for ages, and of course the prices just aren't coming down.

Last year I had to return a BMW i8 to a "reputable" BMW dealership franchise in the North of England after it turned out to be a lemon (I'm sure y'all can find my previous posts if you're interested). As a consequence I've been driving a shed in the meantime (09 Abarth with 150K miles on it). Now I'm needing something with four seats and some refinement.

I used to own a Macan, and terribly miss the driving experience of a Porsche, hence the Panamera quest.

Used prices though aren't falling south of £55K from a main dealer... however, I've found a Panamera 4 for £49,500, though it just has 21" wheels, Air Suspension and privacy glass as extras, whilst having 60K miles on the clock (albeit from one owner).

Could anyone tell me if they feel this is a good price?

EDIT: Sorry I should add, it's currently stocked with an OPC.

I’ve tried that and they’re offering me £10K less than the OPC. Man maths makes me think the 2 year warranty is worth £3K so £46K for the car itself from an indy equivalent. It seems the cheapest from an OPC…

I too was looking at these around a year ago. There are certainly fewer used cars around now and like for like prices do seem to be over £5k more (plus the cars are now 1 year older).
Although slightly higher miles, I can't recall seeing one at an OPC for less than £50k. I'm guessing a 2017 car?
Cars are expensive now but who knows how long it will stay like this (I've read over a year longer). If I was happy with the car and going to keep it for a while i'd go for it.

I agree! I’ve been looking for more than a year and I haven’t seen one at an OPC for less than £50K. There are plenty at Indy’s but I don’t want to risk it for such an expensive car. I’ll ask to get a video of the car and see how it goes… I’ll let you know!

£10k margin for an OPC is standard…it’s a fairly priced car IMHO. Actually surprised they aren’t trying to make more on a high is here mileage Panamera ! If you like it buy it and get on and enjoy it. If it’s the cheapest on the market someone else will be along soon and buy it.

I think so too. In essence I'm just a weak, insecure man crippled with indecision and need fellow petrolheads to egg me on to make the purchase. Just reserved it!

Do any of you know, before selling, does the OPC refurbish wheels and fix stone chips? Is it acceptable for me to ask for this to be done?

It’s very common for OPC’s to do this as prep on an AUC. I’d be surprised if they haven’t already done it.

The OPC I use has started putting PPF on it’s demo/loan cars as it is cheaper than putting them through the body shop before sale.

Congratulations. Do start a readers car and let us know how you get on. Re the prep - you are buying from an OPC. You do this to get a car that meets their approved standards which should be pretty high. I would expect no scuffs/dings, perfect wheels and tyre tread that meets their criteria. Do check all this. I bought a BMW AUC last year and ended up with a full alignment and 4 new tyres as well as 2 or 3 very small smart repair dings sorted. It's easy for them to sort this stuff out. The dings on my car were tiny but I noticed them and wanted the car to be as close to perfect as possible. The Dealer was great and the car was beautifully prepared.

Ah thank you for this. I've just made sure with the salesman on the phone that everything will be sorted before I go to pick it up, and he assures me it will be. I'm dealing with an OPC south of our capital, and given I feel I've made everything as smooth as possible for a remote buyer (paying the deposit within six hours of the reservation, and signing all the required documents, etc) communication does seem a bit lacking... I haven't been given a timescale regarding when the car will be ready for example, even though I'll have to arrange time off for that to happen. I bought a new Macan when they first came out and things seemed a bit different then. Maybe I'm just a pre-owned buyer in their eyes and not worthy.

Do you happen to know if OPCs will fit parts ordered from another OPC? Thank you in advance for letting me draw from your vast well of collective experience.
