As in make sure that anybody opening the X Drive folder has to pop in a password to peruse the ahem, art? Or your user is OK to access it, but others cannot?

The former: https://www.wikihow.com/Protect-Folders-With-Passw... (read the whole thing first)

The latter: not advisable, as anyone else with admin rights on the device can simple seize ownership.

See also Cloud based private folders, i.e. in Dropbox, OneDrive etc.

This'll be great....

However, USB stick > pocket > bum

It's the only way to be safe!

Or Google - https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/password-protec...

If you don't mind installing some software then I'd make a VeraCrypt encrypted volume and then move the folder/files in there. Not only do you need a password to access it, but you can name the volume something innocuous so the temptation isn't even there if you don't know what to look for.

If the contents rarely change I would zip it…

Right click
Send To
Compressed (zipped) folder
Open new zip file
Tools
Encrypt
Add password

This. Alternatively, set yourself as administrator and make all other accounts guests, then change security permissions on the file to give only you access.

Use Cryptomator to create encrypted directories - works for cloud storage.
