Hi, I have just put down a deposit on a Striple S. I am quite tempted to keep the limited space in the garage free by keeping this or my previous bike offsite alternately.

It would be nice to move stuff (sports/hoarding) also there out of the house too but have local(ish) access.

I’ve looked around for garages or lockup’s in viscinity and found someone five streets away with a garage for £100 per month which could work.

Haven’t spoken yet but feels a bit much for what I need. £50 I prob would be able to live with it. Though whether it’s wise/fair to store bikes there is another matter.

I’ve seen that there is a £40pm service in osset with not your average bikes. https://notyouraveragebikes.com/motorcycle-storage...

Anyone here able to recommend them or any better ideas*. Pref within a catchment of East Leeds. I haven’t really got stuck in to looking at 24 hr storage places yet.

  • I guess with commercial locations bike insurers are likely to be happier.

No other helpful suggestions but that NYA place looks good - the area is decent enough and having a bike shop with it means that even if there was a break-in, you're less likely to have something nice nicked than if it's just sitting in a generic industrial unit.

I would suggest a shipping container on a commercial premises with plenty of cctv cameras that work and coded security gate. I keep my bikes in one and admittedly the ten mile drive is a ball ache but they are out of London where I live and no more sleepless nights.

A mate of mine keeps his bikes in one of those self storage containers in Leeds. Looks pretty secure.

No way in a million years I’d be keeping anything but junk in one of those blocks of garages that you see. I’m

Just a point to note that most shipping container and storage companies ask you to drain your fuel and oil before leaving it there. Not all but I'd check this first. The thought of leaving my bike without oil is a no no.

No restrictions where mines are kept , thankfully, I ride them fairly often

I was looking at storage containers on eBay as could easily be converted for office or whatever. Seen enough people doing so on Tv.

I was getting impression unless you sort them properly then the condensation will give rust on bikes kept in those.

Do you happen to know the firm for Leed storage one ? I did read some reviews/posts on Facebook/google where some customers were alleging the firm in question may have played a part in a load of containers being broken into for quads and bikes. This was six month ago I was searching.

Dare I ask, a company name (and rough price) would be amazing if I may be so bold?

Unless they're properly ventilated then they will get damp over winter.
