Painfully dull quartz watch, not unlike Skagen. Far from amazing

It’s all just ‘build a brand’ isn’t it ?

I’ve been living in Scandinavia over a decade now, your standard watch is a Garmin Fenix all the way into the boardroom.

Funny that, I bought a Fenix 5 a few weeks ago to wear at work rather than risk any of my more expensive watches. I could never go back to wearing a quartz watch but a smart watch doesn't offend me in the same way. Actually considering selling up my others and putting the money towards a new car.

So with Skagen you can mix & match dial, case material, strap or bracelet can you? Didn't know that, but then this is not my normal watch price point.

Anyway, I liked the design language and from what you can tell on the website, the quality of finish, which looks to me far more premium than Skagen, who make nothing that interests me.

Good job we don't all like the same stuff. I mean, Yamaha V-Max & an old Ford wearing a Jag badge - I wouldn't be seen dead with either.

Are you that insecure you have to stalk someone's profile to have a pop at them rather than respect the fact they don't like something you do?

No. I took a look at the public profile as I'd not seen the person post on the watches forum before. I don't call that stalking?

He's perfectly entitled to his view, as is everyone. However

is dismissive & rather rude in my view.

It would have been much more polite to say "not my cuppa" or similar, or say nothing & move on.

Lot's of people like affordable watches. My post was intended to be a friendly heads up to anyone looking for something nice, for not much money.
Wish I hadn't bothered now.

Might have a go at a refurb, save another 50 quid or so. Quite like the look of the Pioneer.

ETA Just been playing, if you don't want a free strap then YURURIRA20 gets 10% off refurbs (20% off new)

I used to post on watch forums and here years ago, I’d have 10 ‘affordables’ on rotation, I started getting a lot more outdoorsy and went with a Fenix .... It just instantly killed off my watch collecting. have a look at the ‘Marq’ range if you want to go with a total one watch policy. I think it’s my next step.

I wore a smart watch instead of my *good watches" for a time , mines a Samsung Galaxy Watch3 but ive grown to really dislike it and go back to wearing my decent watches on rotation, my current one being an Omega PO on rubber strap.

I still have my Galaxy Watch 3 I wear for running but then I take it off again. I find smart watches very unappealing personally.

Yep, after a number of years exclusively wearing an Apple Watch, I’ve warned myself off the smart watch bandwagon and back to wearing proper watches smile

Apple Watch is for running and certain holidays. Might replace it with a Fenix though.

I do wear a Garmin activity monitor though to help improve my sleeping habits smile

Well my package arrived this morning & I've taken a few quick photo's

I love the way the Pioneer dial pics up the light.

The Philosopher came with a pretty nice mesh bracelet, but I'll wear it on the leather strap.

The bracelets & the straps all come with easy release springbars

Very impressed.

Same here.

I have tried various smartwatches over the last few years, and I just don't get it. I know they are rammed with features, but so is my phone, and I have that with me all the time in my pocket. All a smartwatch seems to do is replicate the same features on my phone.

Like I said, don't get them, which is surprising because I generally love all kinds of tech and gadgets.

Went back to mechanical watches and don't think I'll be trying smartwatches again.

I fully appreciate that I may be in the minority, because so many people like them.
