DSC Service (again!)

So have had the dreaded DSC service Traction etc etc message

Battery seems ok (no other issues) but it wont charge properly with the CTEK so gonna fit a new one tomorrow

I had the OBDII reader on it but no stored messages and Erase doesnt remove DSC warning. What am I looking for on the OBDII to tell if its the pressure transducer or pedal sensor ?

To make matters worse MOT ran out yesterday so doing this sort of blind and cant get it into a specialist till August.

I had this message and found it could be one of a few things. The easiest was the ABS brake pressure sensor https://astonmartinbits.com/models/5-V8-Vantage/pa... so I changed that first, 15 minute job, very easy. Then the message cleared itself after a few stop/restart cycles.

Not seen any Vantage specific, but same as any other car really, you may find some vids similar. Its under/near the brake fluid reservoir area top left when you lift the bonnet. I just put a rag in place to catch any fluid, switched it out quick and then topped up the brake fluid a tiny bit after.

Check the part pic posted earlier and have a look, you should see it easy enough.

Was it a big job, I get the same error and already swapped out the brake pedal transducer.

Thanks Bogie, found it. Looks straight forward, presume the wire connector pops off. Did you do it finger tight or use a spanner/pliers

They are not always easy to remove, mine was seized solid in the master cylinder and it broke in two leaving the threaded part attached to the master cylinder. I removed it in the end by taking off the wheelarch liner to give easier access. I'm sure yours will be fine, it's just the sort of luck I encounter when I go to do jobs!

Yes wire just pops off. I used a socket. Checked the workshop manual and torque setting is 35Nm.

Well, mines not moving easily with a spanner! I guess a socket might be better, of course deep 25mm sockets are harder to find

I also had this issue and had to replace the Yaw sensor, sadly it’s deep behind the dash, dealer said teh book time was an eight hour job but they did it in four….

As per the last poster .... its buried deep under the dash so not an easy fix. Its the same part as a Jag S type I believe which is a lot cheaper than the Aston version.

I traded my car in with this issue so have no idea of the cost to fix.
