TFSI Oil Consumption issues

I'm looking at buying a 2010 2.0 Audi TT.

It is the cambelt model so I believe this is the E113 engine rather than the cam-chained E888.

I'm getting mixed messages on which engine (or both) have the high oil consumption issue.

Any advice?

Early 888s (chain) had piston rings issues.

113s do use some oil but not excessively so unless very high mileage. The engine breather (PCV valve) can make it use some oil and they do fail but aren't expensive. Generally strong engine.
