Naked wines club
Discussion
I’ve been with them for many years. I’ve never had a bad bottle, but tbh you can get some great wines at Aldi etc for less cash. I just let my account accumulate and then order a box every few months, it’s nice to come home to a box of wine occasionally! Also the Christmas boxes are usually excellent too.
I've been a member for years, the wines are consistently better than supermarket wines, though generally more expensive.
I've had some really good, most OK and only a couple I didn't like.
If you don't like a wine or its off you can easily get a refund.
The monthly freebie is a nice touch and around Christmas is usually a magnum!
They also do a Christmas hamper with a mix of wines, port, gin and some sort of freebies like glasses and gin. Expensive though as you can't choose the wines.
As the customer service is great, yodel once delivered my case to a random other house in the village, the surprise recipient phoned them up and we were reunited and they sent us both a couple free bottles to apologise!

Tried a couple of cases when I’ve had the half price offers. Mixed reds and whites and all were decent quality. I’m bad at committing to things though so I haven’t carried on subscribing.
Similar to this, I got a case of all red for half price or some offer like that, very much drinkable stuff, but didn't keep my subscription going as I'm already with Virgin Wines each month. I switched to Naked from Laithwaites a few years back when the latter stuffed up three orders in a row. Naked have been really good; I've had I think two wines I really didn't like and they refunded without faff. Otherwise they've delivered on time, there's a nice selection, and they've added some nice features like being able to reserve a case of the next vintage of anything you particularly like.
Last few years my brother's been buying me a case from the Wine Society as a combined crimbo/birthday present, and they've all been excellent too, but I find it easier to choose stuff at Naked for some reason.
The Christmas deals already mentioned have been brilliant - while there's always stuff I don't want, those items sort out a load of presents for neighbours and so on, and they're pretty decent value.
Finally I know it's a bit of a sleight-of-hand, but having a set amount go into my account every month makes buying a case every few months feel less painful.

Been a member for several years. Over that time I've got 4-6 producers which I stick to. Main issue I've found is they can quickly run out of a certain vintage. You can put your name down to get a case of the new vintage which I've not been disappointed with but vintages can obviously change from year to year depending on a number of factors.
Look at “the wine society” if you are into wine, buy a share then off you go, does not matter what price you want to pay they will meet your requirements.
Consistently cheaper than supermarkets, they treat wine the same as a tin of beans, consistently better for price too.
When you pop your clogs your better half gets a pay out based on how much you have bought over years.
Check in papers, they are regularly quoted as supplying above average wines for the price.

We have a monthly case from Laithwaites but have £20 a month going into Naked. Every 6 months or so we get a case from Naked i.e for summer BBQs or christmas time etc.
Exactly the same.I find them generally better and more interesting than supermarket wines (maybe with the exception of Waitrose), and it makes me feel better that my money is going to support a small grower rather than someone in the supermarket supply chain.
Every bottle is a 7-8 out of 10 for quality/value, but you rarely get a 9-10/10. As you say, perfect fridge/rack fillers.

It's all BS anyway - 'Naked' Wines is a sub-brand of Majestic.
I think that's a disingenuous way of putting it. Majestic bought Naked in 2015, and the guy who started Naked is now CEO of Majestic. These enable marketers to approach different markets in different ways, without diluting the core values of their main brand.
The 'angel' story offers a strong point of differentiation - no other mail order wine brand does it - and clearly resonates with some.
