I run MS365 with Outlook/Exchange using my own domain & it works pretty well. I configured it myself following the online guides & managed to stumble through although I didn't have a lot of legacy mail to port across. I have a colleague who currently has a hosted email package & they are finding it's now a bit pants with limited storage & frequent sending issues so I suggested they look at migrating across to MS365, especially as they'll be doing a lot of Teams stuff in the future. Teams works fairly well, but the email side needs to be better.

I think me sorting it out for them is not the way to go - they need someone who can offer a bit of support especially during the migration. There have two main mailboxes so it's not a massive job by any means but it is their business. They do add other mailboxes on an occasional basis as they take on contractors for particular projects.

So, can anyone recommend a reliable provider who can get them transferred across & running under their own domain. They use MS products a lot so Google/GSuite isn't really an alternative.

Why not just go directly to MS?

We use Greymatter as our Cloud Service Provider. Lots of help as we run a hybrid Exchange setup.

Because I'm looking for someone who will set it up for them, sort out amending their domain records, help them transfer legacy email over & offer some support when doing stuff like adding new mailboxes. I don't think MS do that - that's what the resellers are for.

I think they are one link up the chain aren't they? They look a bit big for just a small two person band.

I'd still welcome any more suggestions. I use 123 but I'm not particularlry enamoured with them.

Genuinely, MS have supported me with all of that. I understand that a reseller may provide you with a single contact that will assist with everything, whereas MS will pass you from team to team.

You need a CSP. Whilst MS offer support directly it is pretty well known that it can be a tad frustrating and disparate. The margin that they offer on licences to a CSP is basically to cover the costs of the support side of things. We're a Gold partner but unfortunately 2 users sits under where sit so I can't offer. Probably better to look for someone who specifically deals with SMB

If your interested I work for a MS CSP. Can help with the migration and sell the subscription for less than MS. If more of ongoing support we have options around that as well.

Cobweb are brilliant, amazing support. There were at one time one of the biggest email hosting businesses as they previously built their own hybrid exchange solution (prior to MS releasing 365).

I was a customer of theirs for a long time and their USP is support, they will do any of the day-to-day stuff you need help with, just call them or raise a ticket and they will take care of it.

I'm not a sales guy - just a mere engineer, but we are a small cloud service provider and specialise in supporting small business (I've even migrated single mailboxes to M365 for one bands). Happy to get my MD to chat with you further should you wish.
