We are selling one of our buy to let properties, with the intention of buying a holiday let. We've been made a very good offer on the flat we are selling so have accepted and going through the (admin heavy) sales process.

As we have no agreed idea where to buy and couldn't be bothered looking until Covid is more settled and until the money is in the bank we will likely have about 100k of cash sitting around for 12-18 months.

We are both maxed out of ISA's and pension - so where do we put it in the meantime to get some return with little risk?

I've suggested investing in a classic Porsche or Ferrari and was met with the stare of death!

You need to do some prep before presenting such an idea.

Short term with no risk - Premium bonds, £50k each.

Banks are paying either no or very little interest.

S&S likely to be too volatile for the short and unknown time frame. Plus you are well over the £20k/year ISA limit to keep it tax free.
