I am looking to buy a power bank, one thats ok to take on a plane. A good capacity and a few outputs and ideally reliable etc.
There seems to be a lot of cheap naff stuff about with a trillion amps etc so dont mind buying something a bit more expensive.
Also something that will do wireless phone charging.
Anyone got any suggestions?

+1 for Anker - reason I'm on my second is I used to play Ingress and then Pokemon Go and so had a phone plugged in to mine far too often and so capacity dropped after about 4 years. Had no hesitation in buying a newer version. This is my present one. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00VJSGT2A/ref... I purposely went for capacity so I could carry on playing PoGo when away without having to worry about a charge (and also had two phones plugged in at the same time ....)

Likewise, I'd also recommend the Anker stuff that Amazon sell, it's generally pretty good. Have had a Powercore 10000 for well over 4 years now, which is still working fine.

Personally I'd give anything wireless a wide berth. It's a horribly inefficient technology, which is less of a problem when you're plugged in to the mains, but will effectively halve (or worse) the effective capacity of your portable power bank. Even worse if you keep your phone in a case; the extra gap between charger coil and phone coil just serves to make it even worse as a charger (although remarkably good as a handwarmer...).

Just on the ‘to take on a plane’ bit, don’t forget to check what the max allowed is. You might be surprised how low it is.

Thanks, I think I will go with the usb-c anker 26800. Its only got 2 usb outputs rather than 1 however the usbc does output too which is fine as wifey has an ipad pro.

Yep, 100Wh which a lot (most?) use as the limit comes in at 27027mAh. I’ve seen lower limits over the years which is why it’s worth a quick check thumbup

Yes, also Anker... used to buy cheap USB stuff, but had failures. Never a problem with Anker, and it's not too badly priced.

You can get power banks that do fast charge which is ideal.

Currently using a 20,000 mAH battery with usb-c "Power Delivery" which can fast charge my iPad and phone. And an anker wall charger with USB c and USB A ports so can fast charge all my stuff from one charger, and a couple of things at a time e.g. phone and sports watch.

Cheers I went with the powercore+ from Anker.

Also ordered the 3 port 65W PIQ wall plug as that looked good as you get UK, US and EU plugs for it.
