Bleed nipple on the rear

Quicky, which side is it on? I suspect the near side?

Reason, garage access is so bad its a pain to have to lift it twice to bleed, rather do it once.

From memory its near side, and on mine a 11mm spanner is needed, it also is a right bugger because the there is a chassis member in the way, so i chopped a spanner and welded in a 2"(ish) spacer to offset it.

My understanding is that the fluid only ages if the seal has been broken to allow air and moisture into it.

Hmmm, yes within reason but there's always a bit of air in the top of the bottle neck...

Once it's been opened it starts to absorb water.

Def near side on mine, the brake line comes into the right caliper, buggers about a bit (technically speaking) then ends up at the left nipple!

uncanny, been bleeding mine today after diff out
operation.
Didn't bleed to well, adequate resisted bleeding at pipe unions

Had a one apart a good while ago, knew it was one side but not sure which. Believe me, I do not have a garage. Its a tardis but the other way around.

Good luck on the drive, I've spent many years doing that until I got a useable garage! I've also finally just bought one of those Easy Bleed kits, uses pressure from wheel to bleed through. Not tried it out yet, that's tomorrows job......

We had to move because of work, lost 3' off the length and 2' off the width. Makes a hell of a difference. Spent a while with no garage before, but the problem of a steep drive and a shoe box masquerading as garage is a mean one.


I tried an easy bleed before but didn't really get on with it.

Taking the appropriate wheel off helped me for access when I fitted the BF Goodrich hose on the back.
Top tip from the bible is to place an old bit of carpet over the wheel studs to save puncturing a lung

So that would be a Sidrat then Jeff - not a garage manufacturere I`m familiar with!
