but apparently only Auto box.?
That is just something that you have to accept now with performance BMWs though.
If I came into some money for a new daily driver, I’d look to see if I could get an M2
I think for most people the M2 is the best performance car that BMW makes.

I love the new M240i looks great in the purple or the storm grey with the black bits added, as for the manual option BMW manuals aren't very good, I get a Porsche/TypeR/GR yaris etc...in manual as they have rifle bolt slick short throws that are a pleasure just to sit there and snick through the gate, but I've never used a BMW manual and thought this is nice, they are a combination of long throw, vague, rubbery/notchy.

I've always really liked the M2 as well. I will always remember the first time I saw one at a car show, I walked up to it side on, and I just loved how the brakes were almost the same size as the wheels! It just looked so menacing I thought.
Wait until I finally source an 18' wheel "downgrade".

Have to agree with that - rubbery and notchy is exactly how I would describe them. Haven’t driven any performance BMW manuals, can anyone comment if they are any better in terms of feel than lower down the range? I’d love to try an M2 manual for example. Chebble said:

Let me try to be objective about the notchyness and rubberiness.Honda S2000 10/10 (the benchmark)
E82 125i Manual 6/10 (not great)
M2 8/10 (much improved)

Agreed, in fact its the only one I'd really want to own. M3/M4 is fugly and M5 to big to chuck around ... I think for most people the M2 is the best performance car that BMW makes.

Quite like the look of the M240i X drive .... my only concern is the new M2 is going to be as ugly as the M4 with that oversized beaver-tooth grill

Not official of course... but I'm been told launch/delivery mid 2023. RWD only,Manual or DCT options and close to 500BHP... Oh... and no big grills....
240 a stop gap for you then?
Starting to get used to it. Especially with all the details in gloss black and a dark colour.
