I’ve been asked to install a weather station at a local lake but haven’t the first idea about them, can anybody recommend some?

My brief is:
- install it up on a pole, wiring runs no problem
- weather data accessible via an app, so it is easily consumable and easy to use
- collect wind, temperature data as a minimum but the more the better
- provide some sort of historic view of data for trending
- budget around £500

There is a wifi internet connection there.

Take a look at Davis weather stations. I’ve had Davis Pro2 running non-stop for 7 years with little bit of twice yearly maintenance (bar an issue with a solar panel that was replaced FOC, despite being 2 years beyond guarantee period). I’m not sure on current costs but they are rated to be one of the best performers.

Thanks, I’ll look into it.

Does it integrate with some iOS app service?

Yes Davis have an app/program called Weatherlink., I’d imagine the Davis Vantage Vue would be a good fit cost wise. Try looking at weather shop based in Ford, Sussex.

I had an oregon scientific wmr200 for 10 years which I always seemed to be faffing with as the sensors dropped connection and/or gave inaccurate readings. I gave up and bought the davis vantage Pro 2 with weatherlink and it is great. Not cheap but proper 'hobby' grade rather than 'toy' grade that the alternatives seem to be.

As mentioned weathershop.co.uk seem to be the market leaders.
