advice for a new 944 lux owner please

Don't know about pork specialists in Chester, but as for tuning - I wouldn't bother. You could spend a lot of cash on the 8v for very little gain, as they were already well tuned at the factory.
Sports exhaust/induction kit will make it sound better, but don't expect any more oomph. A chip might give you a few more horses, but you'd be better off keeping your dosh and using it to upgrade to a turbo or S2 at some point in the future.
And don't ever buy those £3 "magic" chips off ebay!

Forget about tuning on these cars as there is an evolution of factory models to choose from. Buy on condition rather than anything else ; a mint 2.5 engined car is miles better than a well used S or S2 in terms of ownership propsects . The early cars are not about outright speed but once you get to know them , there are only a few cars quicker A to B than a well driven 944 .
Hi Mark.i have fitted an induction kit, stainless sports exhaust made by Dansk and a Promax chip to my 2.7 lux and ALL have made a difference in my opinion. It certainly sounds faster!Dansk exhausts for the 2.5 can be found at eurocarparts.com for £109+vat or often come up on ebay.Chip from promax.co.uk £99.99.Both are bargains.go for it.
