Note that it's a link to the Daily Telegraph. Does the mask reference add anything to the story?
she went out on her first day, dropped her car for MOT. stood around looking in her handbag for her mask. at the same time a lorry reversed, she happened to be in his blind spot and she didnt notice until it was too lateambuletz said:

Confused. The lorry driver didn't see her,so how do we know she was untangling her mask, not putting her keys in there, for example.
Well as it was a report of an inquest I assumed there was evidence to support the mask statement. But rather than take it trust google has a longer report in the Sun.
"PC Leanne Steedman said that from the CCTV footage, Ms Lewis seemed to be "in a world of her own" as she handled her mask."

It is a bit surprising someone cautious enough to shield for 9 months wasn't careful enough to get off the road before rummaging in her bag.
But maybe it is human nature not to worry about the familiar?
The Coroner stated
" she would be writing to Transport Secretary Grant Shapps to ask him to consider making rear-view cameras on the back of large goods vehicles mandatory."

Great another thick coroner with no idea of the real world " she would be writing to Transport Secretary Grant Shapps to ask him to consider making rear-view cameras on the back of large goods vehicles mandatory."
the heavily regulated haulage industry is already on it's arse and in crisis with nitpicking sillines so why not add more.Maybe common sense should be made mandatory and stupidity illegal instead?
