Bit of a random one this! I have an Audi on lease, approaching month 18 on a 24 month contract. I intend to send it back early - probably in the next few weeks.

The service indicator says it's due in about 1500 miles. What I'm wondering is:

1. Does the service 'light'/notification appear in advance? For example, does it pop up and say 'A service will be due in X miles', and at what point? (Or does it just pop up when you hit the mileage stated?)
2. Even if this pop up, does it matter when it comes to handing back early?

Anybody have any ideas?

My A4 gives me a countdowm to when a service is due. It pops up on the digital display when I start the ignition. I can't remember how much notice.

I had a Golf R on lease that went back with 300 miles left to service before it was collected. I call VW finance and they said no problem, it's not over due so no extra charge. This was about 3 years ago.
Call the lease company and check with them.

IIRC i think the ignition startup reminders happen at 1k.

If it's an oil service you could reset it https://www.youcanic.com/guide/audi-oil-service-re...

You answered your own question there. It says due in 1500 miles.
Most conditioned-based service indicators will say a mileage and a date (month/year). The date will stay, and will be the date unless the mileage counts down earlier than that.

Thanks for all the replies, a huge help.

To clarify, what I'm saying is when I go into the menus and view the service information, it says 1500 miles to the service. What I was asking was at what point does the car proactively tell me that it needs a service, for example through a service light or notification on the dash. (So didn't really answer my own question at all wobble)

Have you had an early termination quote yet?

My wife’s car goes back early next week (ALD automotive) and they let us hand back 4 months early for free as the value now is greater than the expected value at lease expiry.

I then enquired to VWFS about my car out of interest and they still want the usual 55% of remaining payments.

Not had a quote yet, requested contact through the Audi Finance portal, but nothing! Did you just call them?

I'm guessing I'll get the same response as you did - that I have to pay 55%, which is what I've planned for, but would be nice if I had the ALD situation instead!
